BioE PhD Student Wins Judges Award at PhD Research Expo

Bioengineering student Catherine “Katya” Karpova, PhD’27, who works in Professor Guohao Dai’s lab, was selected for the Judges Award at the 7th Annual College of Engineering PhD Research Expo last week, for her poster presentation on “Development of Cardiac Specific Endothelial Cells to Support Vascularized Cardiac Organoids.” She was the only Bioengineering PhD student who received an award and was one of three Judges Awardees, out of 80 poster presenters.
The other two Judges Awardees are Simran Pandey (Chemical Engineering) and Brett Emery (Mechanical and Industrial Engineering).
