SEDS: Students for the Exploration and Development of Space
The Northeastern University Chapter of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space, SEDS, is a student group on campus which offers students the opportunity to conduct capstone level research and design before their senior year. We are made up of over 200 students in the colleges of Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Business, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The Northeastern chapter of SEDS was founded in the Fall of 2018, and we are the only group on campus that works in both a professional and social environment focusing on space exploration and technologies. Our primary workspace is the basement of Richards Hall, where members can be found at all hours of the day working, collaborating, and building projects. We host many events in the Northeastern community with a focus on astronomy and raising interest in STEM!
Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit that empowers young people to participate and make an impact in space exploration. SEDS helps students develop their technical and leadership skills by providing opportunities to manage and participate in national projects as well as to attend conferences, publish their work, and develop their professional network, in order to help students become more effective in their present and future careers in industry, academia, government, and education.
