Bioengineering PhD Develops and Commercializes Breakthrough MRI Technology
Codi Gharagouzloo, PhD’16, bioengineering, co-founded Imaginostics, commercializing a novel technology called QUTE-CE MRI, which is a platform technology for non-invasive imaging that transforms any MRI machine into a powerful quantitative diagnostic tool. Imaginostics was recognized as a finalist among more than 4,500 participants of Hello Tomorrow, a prestigious competition for deep tech startups.

$4.2M NIH Award for Developing Tools To Analyze Individual RNA Molecules
COS/BioE Professor Meni Wanunu and BioE Assistant Professor Sara Rouhanifard, in collaboration with Anna-Marie Pyle from Yale University, were awarded a $4.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)/National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) for “Direct RNA Sequencing Using Electro-optical Zero-mode Waveguides and Custom Click Fluorescent Nucleotides.”

NSF CAREER Award To Improve Immune Response With AI
BioE Assistant Professor Mona Minkara was awarded a $827,000 NSF CAREER Award for “Decoding the Code of Glycan-Collectin Interactions: Computational Engineering of Surfactant Proteins for Tailored Glycan Recognition.” The focus will be to better understand and improve the immune system response to pathogens.
